Surroundings
Kingsland offers all the amenities one can expect in a village: a church, a village hall, a general stores with tea room and post office, two pubs, a garage, a doctors' surgery and a primary school.
For many of our visitors, the country side here is well known for walks in fields and woods, with the Mortimer Trail a firm favourite. You can make use of our bikes if you want to explore in a different way.
Nearby market towns have their own special attractions. Leominster (4 miles) offers a wide range of antique shops, Hereford (13 miles) has a lovely Cathedral with the Mappa Mundi and Chained Library, Hay-on-Wye is known all over the world for its bookshops, while Ludlow is a beautiful old market town on a hill top overlooking the countryside. Its castle hosts the famous Food Festival and the town is a major culinary centre in Britain.
Wales is very close by and spectacularly different. Steep hills and mountains, valleys, streams and the huge reservoirs of Elan valley are all within easy reach. |
